nasty little buggar

when I spied this from the back door, I was ready to seal up the door until winter... luckily we have a 'hunter-gatherer' here who ran for the windex and spray bleach. this huge spider didn't drop dead, he ran away, but hopefully he found a peaceful resting place shortly after.... ICK. I don't even think you can fathom the hugeness of this guy from the picture. It certainly doe not do him justice, but I was NOT getting any closer for a picture. no way.

learning about density

It floats, but when it fills with water, it starts to sink. How can we fix it? "With tape?"

better solution found to stop the filling up, and then "it needs a 'repellar' you know, a thing on the back to go round and round." luckily the sour cream container was an acceptable solution.

*Matthew chose his boat parts fro the recycling bin after a D&D night... I myself would have went for the empty two liter, but Matthew likes the color green.
