and just in time- we're leavung to go to my in-law's house on Saturday, so this can be gifted before we're gone and enjoyed before Santa comes. I'm interested to see the reactions of our little friends when they open it. It comes in a case, so most likely a "what is it?" will come first. :)

Free gift tags
check out the hilarious gift tags available for free download at angry chicken.
hilarious- I think my favorite is "I totally wanted to get one of these for myself, so let me know if you don't want it"
Anyone finished with their Christmas shopping yet? I think I'm not. Mostly finished, but not. I have a thing or two to finish up sewing wise too. I'm really looking forward to the fun of Christmas, but I also find myself wishing it were another few weeks away so I'd feel more on top of things.
My sister and I went shopping with my mom this morning for some of our Christmas gifts. I thought it was fun... I mean, all the people were a bit annoying 'cause they were, like, in my way, but the whole shopping for yourself thing is pretty fun. I mean how often does someone take you shopping and say "what do you want? I'll get it for you." Plus then there's the whole fun of having/ getting to wait to use what you picked. And you know you're going to love the gift you open. Now, the fun of being surprised is lost unless you get your shopping done way ahead of time... but there's still the goodness of spending time together that makes it way worth it. I don't know if Lil' sis feels the same way... I think she was a bit annoyed by my "charge in and conquer" shopping attitude, but it was still fun for me. :)

'Aah bewwer'
Matthew's been fighting a fever the past few days, but finally it broke. Today was the worst and we were lucky to have a good friend come to stay with Matthew while I had to go to a Doctor's appointment. Matthew slept most of the day, and then woke up at 7pm- mostly back to himself. I'm really looking forward to tonight, let me tell ya...
The quilt is complete and a new project has begun- A doorway puppet theatre for 2 little friends with big imaginations. I was able to sew most of the pieces together in one day, and do a little construction work the next while Matthew played with scissors- seriously. He found a pair of the "these only cut paper" kid scissors and sat next to me on his stool and attempted to cut at the paper, which mostly resulted in him tearing the paper because he couldn't open the scissors with only one hand- and you can't cut paper when you have two hands on your pair of scissors.
Picture post soon of the puppet theatre- I know i can finish it in no time if everyone around here stays healthy. :)

Fondue
Did I mention that while we were at the melting pot, we 'won' a free mini fondue ste for being the 10th customer to order the "big night out" meal? well, we did. We finally broke out the set a few nights ago- YUM. while there were only 2 fondue forks, many of us enjoyed. the kids mostly liked dipping the fruit and brownies in so they could feed them to someone else, which surprised me.... Well all except for this little guy:
he asks for more every time he sees the pot sitting out on the counter. Yep- mommy's boy.
brave boy
While watching the Steelers-v-Bengals game on Sunday night, Matthew worked up the nerve to sit in the Bengals section... and prepared to take one for the team if needed...
